It has a full, roar tone that travels well. I was embarrassed to ride into my parking deck at work today. I think the modified KLX300R muffler is actually (perceptively) louder than the Q4.

I'm intrigued about possibly adapting a FE350 / EXC 350 muffler to the KLX250-S.

Q4 is 13.5 around and FE is 14.5

I think the Fe just may be the ticket for you. My Fe is so quiet I can hear my chain. Intake makes more noise then exhaust does. Just be sure to get one from a 350s or 501s. The screened endcaps are quieter.

Awesome thanks for getting those measurements. I have a couple FE/EXC mufflers saved in my cart. Will probably look for a used header to cut up and at least have a better fit into the FE/EXC muffler from whatever adapter pipe I use from my FMF Megabomb header. Who knows, if this can be done cheaply enough and has good enough results, an adapter pipe may be something worth marketing...

Your welcome! Just be sure the screen is in the ones in your cart. Some guys remove them and the bikes are much louder. I would ask for a S model muffler on TT or cafe husky. Many are removed for aftermakets. Mine will be too someday .

Yes, looking for the EXC models only and not the XC or SX.

Here is what the inside of a EXC muffler (p/n 78105182000) looks like.

The other KTM part number I'm looking at is 78005082000 from the 250 and 500 EXC six days.

s10gto what is your FE350S muffler part number? (should be stamped in black on near the back)
