There you go with the attitude agian. I don't expect you to memorize the manual. But you obviously have internet access or you wouldn't be here asking the question. You can open the manual in the PDF and find your information, theres even a pretty picture to look and show simple minded folk how it goes in. If you cannot look at a picture and remember which way the filter goes in from the time you leave the borrowed computer till you get home you probably should not be riding. Gasket to cover, thats pretty hard to remember. Would you like me to come by and do it for you, I mean that would be easier for you and all.

I hope that was your only question, because I doubt your gonna get much help here in the future.

The filter is the same one my Honda TRX250X and my TRX300EX use. Exactally the same. Installed the same also gromet side out.

This is alot of hype over the an oil filter. I think my OEM manual says to use grease. I used a little bit of blue axel grease to hold the spring.

Sounds like you should return the filter & get the correct one, or just install it and let it rip...

Bend the spring open a bit, make the diameter larger, and stick that end in the bike. You will never touch it again.
