I still need to do that. Tired of the old grease trick.

do you guys chain filter every time you change oil. I did end of the season (for northeast). Figure I'd run it hard in the spring then do an oil change in the summer. Worth changing the filter? I know we are talking pennies on the dollar but why go through the hassle.

Filters are relatively cheap. Hassle??? Remove two bolts, pull cover, replace filter, put cover back on, and place bolts. It really only takes a couple minutes. I change it each filter change. Course I use the junk fram ones, so its highly import for them to be changed often.

I usually just change my filter every other oil change, unless i've been running her harder than usual.

Though my bike is now in motard phase so i don't see any dirt (other than my driveway)

This thread is great. hahahaa

I have started using a balled up wad of paper towels as my filter. Works well and pretty inexpensive.

Oh boy, Religion and Petroleum Products in the same thread. Anybody want to take on Politics too?!

My methodology is to err on the side of reasonably frequent oil changes, but only change the filter every second oil change. *It's treated me well for 2 decades on numerous vehicles, but I won't argue with a proponent of the 'cheap insurance so why skimp' school either; life's too short!
