Stock exhaust with FMF megabomb?
Yes, i will, I should have it in less than a week, So we will see. Labour here is so cheap. less than $10 a day for a skilled worker. I am assuming that keeps costs down.
IF we do get some made, i will arrange shipping to the US for you, im sure it wont be too expensive, What is the import tax rules in the US ?

I would encourage him to be careful about marketing them with actual FMF stickers, especially if he intends to potentially sell them here on a wider scale.
If we can get him to build a muffler basically exactly what KTM uses with the offset end cap, but with a longer silencer body.. he might have a little gold mine there. Especially if the mufflers are exact fit so we can use with existing FMF headers... and the mufflers are durable... and quiet!

Yes , that is exactly what i was thinking,
This is the land of copies, they are actually good tradesmen if you make sure they understand the quality you require. But not so good at designing things, just copy others,

Hey QoS, a thought. There is a company advertising baffles for straight pipes. It would be interesting to do a 2" mid pipe with one of their baffles in it (large diameter would possibly allow flow on par with a 1-3/8" head pipe. Then put on a nice can on the back.
Just a thought.

Part of why the Megabomb helps reduce dB's slightly is that the exhaust waves ricochet around the inside of the expansion area and a little sound wave cancellation occurs. The Powerbomb's chamber is much smaller so it doesn't have the same effect on dB.
Same thing is happening with the KTM/Husky silencers on the newest models. about 6" of the end of the body is open. The perforated tube dumps into the open chamber then exits the end cap which is placed off set. Also, KTM adds additional rock wool dampening inside this open chamber.
It's not a perfect design but allows for the noise to cancel out a bit before leaving the system. That is exactly the kind of silencer I would design if I had access to a tradesman. Only, I would extend the main silencer body about 4 inches longer than stock to allow more silencing
