Mark, my feet are average, not wide or narrow. I typically were a 8.5D dress shoe. The boots fit well - they are definitely not too tight side-to-side and it seems that they would accomodate a thick sock without becoming too tight.

I had ordered a pair of sidi discovery boots they are a great boot but they had little ankle protection so I sent them back. Then I ordered a pair of alpinestars tech 3 for $160. They are pretty good boot for the money. They are a little stiff but I am still breaking them in. They are water proof and offer good protection. Good luck with your decision

I'm wearing a pair of Tech 10's, as have broken legs, ankles etc. They fitted spot on. My old boots were Gaernes, very good too, but the tech 10's for me are the best. Another friend just got the new tech 3's with the moulded sole and says they're the best, he had ox before these. they do not have the inner boot that the 10's have. good luck
