KLX250s Battery suggestions?

bike still has the stock battery....2009 klx250sf....approaching 6,000 miles...when should you replace the battery?....figure i don't want to wait to find myself unable to start the bike...

My battery lasted 6 years, never on a tender. I replaced it just because.

Heck, if you're on the street most the time, it's going to be easy to bump start. You should be able to tell when it starts to die with slow cranking. You could also take voltage measurements once in a while and see when it starts to drop off (bike not running, probably before or after rides to be consistent).

Yes, it is something you should learn how to do, and practice so that you're comfortable with it. If you keep riding, there WILL be a time when you'll need it.

Nope. You just can't put it on a charger that will go into an equalizing charge. Your bike charging system is fine.
