just found oil leak need help
1. Wash your bike
2. Go for 5 mile ride.
3. Go over it with a paper towel until you find the oil. Follow the oil to the leak.
4. Replace the valve gasket or reinstall properly.

If you need silicone anywhere but the 2 "half moons" its not right. I would get a new gasket. I have taken mine apart many times and only used silicone right where the half moons meet the rest of the gasket. No leaky. Be careful tightening up the 3 valve cover bolts, its only going into aluminum. I always torque mine per the manual.

From reading here on the forum, weren't there some '09 or later models with an undersized or defective rubber valve cover gasket?
