Well my "one owner" 2012 carb eats every thing I feed it (jetting/tuning setups) and spits out a good running engine.. Others aren't so lucky.. As CVK's age, they can develop issues and certainly can suffer from too many "monkeys" messing with their components.

You have chosen the best setup for easily making a large boost in performance for your mods - DJ Standard Stage II + an appropriate pilot jet - quick and easy.. I believe there is more power available to you by choosing a modification on the standard stage II but you should probably just enjoy the power you have for now..

Y'know the funny part is the old SR500 four stroke single, along with the TT and XT, ran the simple round slide 36 or 38 mm Mikuni. They get more performance from the pumper, but they still did well with the VM model. I often wondered just how a VM36 would work on the KLX or even the VM34. The 34 would keep up the velocity a bit better, making up a shade for no accelerator pump. The point being if the four strokes ran the VMs and flat slides before the pumpers, why shouldn't they be able to do so now and gain performance.

Unfortunately I don't have the cash to throw at everything that interests me...

Seems that the 1/4 throttle has taken care of the hard starts. Now if I can just get the wife to let me ride more

Actually I got the wife a 06 XT 225. She is a trooper when it comes to riding offroad. The XT has crappy suspension and sucks power wise, for her it is perfect!

At the ripe age of 57 don't think adoption is in my future. Depends, drooling and a walker may be
