this morning i had a hard time trying to start my bike. i tried about 5 times. after releasing the start botton she would die. it was like the fuel wasn't getting to the engine. then i started her up and held the thrutle for about three seconds at 7 g's. then she was fine. she began to idol like normal. anyone had the same problem with their 05 636? [:@] this is the first time it happened so just kinda wondering.

I had the same problem. it was a colder day, and i had to adjust my idle about one notch. Not sure if that was the problem but it worked. it never happened since. My idle is at 1500 rpm. Hope this helps.


I must say that every now and then if my bike sits for a few days i do have to give the throttle a little twist as i start it , but not up to 7k. It will start the the second try.

 

well i called the the tech at the stealership and i told him what the problem was. and he told me, it might have been bad gas. some water have have got in to the gas when i filled up the bike. and the injectors didn't like it. so ever since then the bike has been starting up fine. but for notstock, i have 7,800 miles on the bike. no mods yet. and last service was @ 7 thousand. she's my daily commuter so she doen't sit for more then a day......thanks guys for your help.....ride safe brothers...... hey notstock, i got a buddy here who's selling his 04 636 full mods for 6.9.. only 500 miles. not even broken in. i think he'll even take 6 flat... nothing wrong with the bike at all.... he's a cop and doesn't really have time to ride.... and he has other obligations...........

 

Glad she is working better for you, maybe it was gas. I have heard that bad gas from techs before. I think it's there standard go to when they are stuck. LOL

Nice deal on that bike, you can't tempt me like that. I still have not finished my track bike and if I come home with another my wife will probably leave. Uuummmm what color was that bike.

 

that color would be that lava orange that everyone just loves............[:'(] but hey it's still a KAW.....

 

The 04 636 is not called lava orange. I had the orange 04 636. Its a nicer color than the 05 lava orange. Here is a pic.

It's just orange, kinda like Raven for the R1. It's just black, raven is a bird not a color.

It all boils done to personal choice. It's still just black though
