I went to the dealer to pick my bike up(two and a half hour drive)and they couldnt release it to me because of the recall. When it was fixed and I did get it the grips looked the same as the ones they cut off.

I'm new to KF...and Kawasaki in general...I got a notice several weeks ago.
Had a Red 09 since the first week in May.
Haven't noticed any looseness. Think I'll put some grip glue on and call it good for now.
I heard scott makes a good glue...

I've been waiting for a dynojet kit specifically for the 09 (supposedly out any time now per DJ)...
Just breaking mine in.....100 miles +....trying to be patient. I heard it might be better to wait for that one....

LEVERS: Been looking for a stronger after market clutch lever....any ideas on that?
Stock one is the same as the 08 klx650, per the kawi parts people... stock one is almost $40 but these are soft and breakable, so I hear around the forums....

EXHAUST:

Most seem to be going with the Muzzy exhaust. It does look Great!
2 brothers makes a slip on to fit this bike also....does anyone know the weight difference on these exhausts?
I'm trying to "lighten" this bike (280 lbs...yikes!).....it weighs twice what I do.....

I welcome any input on making it as light as possible...
Already lowered the seat 1.5" to fit my 5'4" size.....wanted to leave the links/geometry alone for better handling...

I welcome any input....THANKS, D

To lighten it, I guess depends on what you'll be doing. Remove the back rack, the extra footpegs and kickstand. Replace the back sprocket with an aluminum alloy one (go up at least 5 teeth in the process if you're into single track and enduro trails), pipe, gas tank(go plastic), handlebars, blinkers and even rims if you wanna get crazy. If you remove the rack, and don't care, you can trim the back frame down too, and put on an MX fender. I think ripping into the headlight area and replacing the light and the analog speedo could save some weight too. Lighter brake rotors? That's the path I'm taking right now, since I'm only 5'9" 160. I don't plan on spending much time on the pavement though.

oops, I don't own an '09. Can I still comment if I have an '07?

This is the first I've heard of that problem. No, I have not gotten a notice as of yet. Of course, I've only owned the bike for about a week.
