Cost me a kitten, oral with no returnsies and I can't say "hoooooos-a-berg!!!" in my annoying tone anymore.

So a while back I took off the hindle exhaust and was running the stock, uncorked unit. I was running with the lid and snorkle. I ran the 124MJ, 3rd notch, 2.5 turns out...the bike ran great using this combo(sea level, 0-12celius) no surging, easy starting, smooth and quiet....but was way down on power So I decided to repack the hindle and add some baffles to the core. I popped in the muffler and jetted up to the 132, 3rd notch, and 3 turns out, no lid. Wow, what a different bike again, I was running the stock setup long enough to forget the bike does has some pep. I again hit the rev limiter thinking something was broken only to look at my tach showing 10.5k rpm....:0 I power wheeled up an incline in 3rd today with a bit of a bounce. The baffles I added to the exhaust was kinda an experiment on making it quieter. Before the exhaust was really raspy and the decel pops sounded like a box of 22s lighting of in a Bon fire(not that I've ever done that ) Now the exhaust is much throatier and a couple db quieter. No real noticeable power difference than before, maybe a bit more if anything, but Im also running a 132mj vs. 128 before.
Pick of the bike, was also trying to capture my cat licking his ***** but he collected his dignity before I snapped the pic

Do up the needle to 4th notch down and get sum mo powah.. You'll still be a little lean at/near sea level but you'll have all the DJ kit can give.. Leave da lid off, of course..

I'm gonna try this new years day, I don't drink, so I'll rip around the 'hood really early to say hello to all the partygoers Looks like I can get to the needle without removing the carb, is this right??

Had some nice weather (cold through, 2deg C) and moved the DJ needle to the 4th notch. Got it sorted out and went for a 25km ride, half street, half double/single track loop. It is hard to tell if 4th notch gained me any power. Maybe a little bit at peak HP, but I think under the curve suffered, or the power curve got steeper in the higher rpm. I think the low end suffered in general running the 4th notch. Mid throttle cruising was very smooth, no surging at all, felt rich cracking the throttle from here. Going WOT off idle was a bit more boggy versus the 3rd notch, throttle response not as crisp. I'm gonna dial in the AF screw half a turn a take it for another test ride. If that doesn't crisp it up in going back to 3rd notch on the needle. I can only imagine what will happen at 2000' where I do most of my off-roading.

On another note, I made a deal with a guy selling his husaberg fe390, pic above. We planned for today to make the deal. This morning I get a text from him saying he is backing out of the deal due to his wife. Me and this guy spent a week viewing each other's bike and coming up with this deal. We shook hands and I we agreed Id come get the bike and transfer it today...bummed me out a bit...urg. Oh well, still on the hunt for a competition grade plated enduro bike...shopping is kinda fun though.

Be sure both washers are on the needle, sitting above the clip.. The power increase is just as you figured - a steeper curve in the upper range.. Your WOT AFR should not go any richer than what my charts show with 132/4n and the DG-R - 13.5:1 - and, in fact, is still way lean compared to the max power target of 12.2:1 @ WOT.. The cold air would lean the AFR even more than my data.. I do agree that 4th notch is a different animal than 3rd notch if your really "in synch" with your bike - as you obviously are.. And I do get a slight hiccup, but only every now and then, when snapping to WOT from low RPM...

Default Checking in!!

Hey folks, I haven't posted here for a while but I've done a couple mods...
I won a bid on eBay for some pro taper contour yz high bars, then bought some cheap anodized blue adapters and mounted up the bars, I like them, gives the bike a more dirt bike feeling, probably just in my head

I also bought and mounted a trakmaster 2 front tire, still debating a mt43 or TM2 for the rear....hmmm. I finally got around to replacing the rear turn signals with some eBay LEDs. Stripped of the stickers and factory graphics, I'm contemplating some MX graphics.

Also I bought a 2007 crf250r to race in the hare scramble series locally, so I've been prepping her for racing. Good times!!
