At work a coworker was pumping the black water tank on one of our ships, one of the piping brackets came lose and a large pipe vibrated and a rubber coupling let go...covering the poor engineer in....****, poo, dokie, maybe seaman, etc...
Here is his hat, but he was covered head to toe

Didn't ride the 250 much this weekend, scouted for some trail accesses in sooke but it was pretty much a bust. All the land out that way is leased by logging companies and they button up all the access points. I found some detour trails but the legality is sketchy.

I'm gonna start street legalizing the kxl400, but first the carb needed a DIY uncorking. I shimmed the needle with a 1mm spacer, drilled out the a/f screw and I'm at 3 turns out, I also replaced the diaphragm spring with the stock klx250 spring and removed the snorkel...no 3x3 mod until I get bigger jets. I took the 400 for a quick test ride and it runs much better, throttle response is crisp, no lean out pop wihen I spike the throttle, top end seemed to pull harder....stay tuned

The DJ needle works very well in my DRZ as does the 25PJ, full pipe and 3x3. I use the stock 142.5MJ at 1,100' to over 7,000'
Bike is VERY responsive off idle right through the range to screaming

I ordered a 25pj and 145, 147.5 and 150 main jet, from what I've read the 150/25 combo works good with the 3x3 mod...

I need to order sprockets and chain as they are original on my 400, Im currently running the 15/44 combo which sucks!!! I'm thinking 14/47 or 14/50, I only need to do 80kph...

Got the KLX400 all sorted out. New 14/47 gearing, rk gold chain, atv mid bars, plated and insured. I haven't changed up the jetting yet, but it feels a bit slow in the bottem end, maybe the 25# pilot will fix that, but once into the mid it hits like a 2stroke, ok not that dramatic. Lol

I've been daily riding the 250s through rain, cold, wind and sleet. Good times!!

Cool ride report! My neck of the woods for sure. Instead of port Alberni to Campbell river you should of went to tofino and long beach. Next time lol.
There is also a route from Shawnigan lake to renfrew via dirt roads. I have a couple trips planned next summer that will follow some of your tracks...I'll report in this thread.
