I just recently installed a set of "no cut" Lockhart Phillips Pro Impact frame sliders on my 2007 ZZR600. It took me less than 10 minutes to install the pair and the fitment was excellent. After the install, I wondered how it would really protect, as it only sticks out about less than a inch. I'm now deliberating on whether I should replace my "no cut" with a set of "cut" sliders but not until the next riding season. I'll keep the ones I have for now. Your thoughts and experiences on these types of sliders would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

and laid it down to test, and they BARELY save as is.. so i'm sure those short ones would still cause damage to the handlebars, mirrors, and lower fairings..

 

I just got some no cut frame sliders and I got alot of different opinions. Basically I was told they're only any good if your bike tips over in a parking lot. At any other speed you're F'd.

 

i know they're called frame "sliders" but everyone i've talked to have said all they really do is cushion the initial impact. all the bikes that i've seen go down with them on they've busted off. but i guess if your lucky enough to only have the case covers scratched than broken they are a good investment.

 

Hey, Jaws! Nice pictures! What frame sliders do you now have and what are the ones you had? Are they both "no cuts"? There's the Freestyle Ingenuity brand that I saw on the web that extends 5.5". No sure if they're "cuts" or "no cuts" though and go for US$99.00. Could you fill me in on how much you paid for 'em and where you got 'em? Thanks.

 

WOW You Have amazing Testicular Fortitude.

 

R&G make one of the best frame sliders as they bolt to the motor mount which significantly reduces the sliders from breaking when going down. If you are bolting them to the plastic, they won't work and will rip right off.

They even supply the modified coolant tank being the sliders bolt through the coolant tank. Just look up a 00-02 ZX6R

 

I don't remember the brand of the first ones i had.. just a cheap ebay one.. but they were no cuts.
The longer ones I have are T-Rex frame sliders for a Honda F3 I believe.. I just looked for something symmetrical.. then I just had to get long bolts from Lowes.

I didn't want to spend the $100 or so for R&G... these sets were all about $20.
