My experience is that they last me about twice as long AND provide better grip.

 

Not doubting ya meanstrk. Just a preference opinion. 5000 street miles is pretty good though on any street tire if you like the twisties.

 

I NEVER see 5K out of tires! Most I have got out of Qualifiers is just over 1K while I have twice that on the Pilot Powers on my CBR right now.

I must admit though. I do not like Dunlops much at all. I never have had much luck with any model of Dunlop. They tend to take longer to warm up and seem to let go suddenly and without warning rather than a progressive slide. Qualifiers are the primary reason for a lowside at CMP last year due to cold characteristics. For the money, I would much rather go with the PP's myself, and believe me, I was getting Qualifiers for less than what the dealers can get them for due to volume discount. I still stopped using them!

Now, I will not use PP's on the track, but consider them an excellent street tire. They do tend to slide predictably though. I have not tried to 2ct's, but I hear that they help control the sliding a bit on the track.

 

1k miles? ouch Big diff on riding styles and setup maybe.

thought about the 2cts as well, just never got that far.

 

1K out of the Q's???? Your suspension set-up or something else must be way off. You should get 4K from those unles you ride really hard while dragracing and/ ordo only burn-outs. I haven't heard that low of mileage even from 1000 superbikes.
