I think you just need to get some miles on the bike & quit worrying. A new motor is very tight & it takes 500+ miles to get it to start lossening up. When they are still low mileage like yours the idle will do odd things at times, the bike may die while idling one day but the next day it's fine. I have seen this exact scenario on 1 of my other bikes & have also had numerous friends who had it happen to them. After they got their mileage up over the 500 mile mark all their bikes were basically cured.

getting the dealer to check it out is the best thing you got right now. i have an 08 my self and i don't have that problem. and plus if they say that over revving your bike isn't good for it during the break in period then that is something you can insist on. don't wait ti'l it's too late!

so i went out riding all day. put about the bike has 125 miles and i put 120 of them on today. =)
the idleing problem has been taken care of. I played with the idle switch and it works fine.
My only concern is the dealer told me to do an oil change at 600 miles. is this correct? or should it be sooner?

So you played with the idle adjustment and it fixed the problem? As far as the oil change at least do it at around 600 miles. On some of my bikes I have done them sooner and on some I waited a little longer.

I had that problem on a bike and found out that my screws on my air intake had come loose and the filter was bouncing around letting more air in from time to time. I almost lost my cover to my air intake. This was on a cruiser.

Thought for a second that maybe it was the recall issue.
