Help! Hear Clicking after oil change.
Hey,
I just finished changing my oil on my 250, and now I'm hereing a clicking noise. WhenI drained the oil we did see small pices of metal, pebble size, inthe oil.I a also changed the Filter too. I used 10-W40 GTX non-synthetic, and a WIX filter. After I replaced the oil filter, I added 1.5 Qtrs, and started the engine. I heard a loud click. Sounded like something inside the engine sratched or broke. I checked the oil level and it needed another .25 more oil. Oil level is showing up as 3/4 of the class now. I took it for a spin, and there is no overheating, but the gears are not shifting as easly as before? Could I have broken one of the gears, when I started theenginewith only 1.5Qrts ofoil in it? I need some advise. Also, the bike feels like it's shakingafter an oil change? HELP!

RE: Help! Hear Clicking after oil change.
I just did some research on the type of automobile oil I used to do the oil change with, and it SUCKS. I should have done this reach first, Ineeded to useMotorcycle oil, NOT AUTOMOTIVE OIL.
I'm going to replace the oil and filter and try this again?
So the real question is, have I distroyed any of the internal parts of the engine. What I mean is,did I DRY-Start the engine, by only having aQuart and a half of oil instead of instead of a Quart and 3/4?

i don't think a 1/4 of a quart low would do much damage. now using automobile oil i don't the ramafications of that. your bike only holds 1 3/4 quarts????

YEAH!! It's a really small engine! 250cc and only 36HP.It good on gas too...70 mile to the gallon, so I don't get the same speed and excelleration you do, but it's great on cost.
I just hope I didn't F... it up....I love that little bike.

I don't know if you have changed your oil yet but try synthic oil. it helps the bike out even if you lose a little bit of oil.
as for using car oil. I'm not sure if you hurt the bike or not you might want to buy some more oil and flush out the system with a good motorcycle oil.
