Default Newbie

Hey guys, new to riding but am into cars. I have a 98 eclipse gsx. Wife and I just bought a ninja 250 but I plan to go bigger, maybe 650 when I get better.
I have a question, we parked the bike for like 2 weeks and I went to start it and it started fine. I let it run for like five minutes then it died and now I can't start it. I made sure choke was all the way up but still nothing. Can anyone help me?? Thanks in advance.

Is it flooded? The choke should only be on to get it started, then turn it off. Welcome to KF.

It started fine for about five minutes. Had the choke all the way up during that time because it would die if i lower the choke. I just let it run, didn't give it gas or anything so I don't think I flooded it.

Three words to remember: Air, Gas, Spark. If one of these is out of whack, you don't go.
Check your plugs (correct heat range, proper deposit/clean burn?),and/or change your gas. Make sure your fuel flow isn't restricted (dirty fuel line), kinked, or has a vacuum problem due to poor venting (like posters seem to be reporting with the increase inhot weather.) Ifthe problem persists, work backwards inthe chain of each of the 3 variables.
