It mostly has to do with your level of maturity, and only has a little bit to do with experience. Same as a 16 yr old getting his first car. If that kid is responsible, and mature enough, then of course he could handle driving a corvette! But most kids that age are not mature or responsible, so they will ultimately wreck the s*it out of it!

If you are the type of person who can keep yourself from going crazy with the power of a 600+ size bike until your mental skills and experience catch up, then by all means, buy one. Otherwise, stick with what you've got until you're ready.
