Why did you buy the KLX?

Hey everyone! I was just wondering whereyou guyshave been, what you have done, your mileage so far, and your rating of your KLX overall. Why did you decide to buy the KLX?
On and off road capability. $4510.00 out the door. And it's just a great all around bike!

Well, after riding various KTM's ('07 250 XC-W, '07 250 XC-F, '07 400 XC-W), I've decided that the KLX is the perfect "two-wheel SUV" for mostof the riding that I do. Forest roads, jeep trails, mild single track is great on the KLX; suspension and seat are really comfortable compared to the KTM's. It's only when you try to do some gnarly stuff (steep hills, mud, super-tight single track) that I wish for lighter weight and more power. So, the KLX is a keeper for me; of course, I'm probably gonna get a KX 250F for the real tuff off-road stuff. Love that green!

There's a couple in and around Toronto, some in BC, and I'm in Ottawa (although, I'm not Canadian, I'm a foreign import from Connecticut).

P.S. - I'm just kidding about the "eh?" part-- I only ever said it once and meant it ... scared the hell of out me: "Did I say that?!??".

I used to live in Bellingham and spent alot of time at Whistler/Blackholm, its easy to start saying "eh" without even noticeing your doing it. I used to hear "aboot", and that always got my attention. Canada is great. I miss living so close. Vancouver is a very cool city, if you have never been there, go. Play-Land is too much fun and Whistler in April cannot be beat. Got to love skiing in a t-shirt.
Well I had a KLR as my first bike, and I miss it on the highway. We were starting to run tougher and more technical trails and the KLR was just to much of a beast for me (I'm a rookie). So onto the KLX.
Also I dug the fact that it had a lower firstgear than the DRZ and a taller highway gear in 6th, pretty sweet. I can compression brake on steep downhills and run about 15kph faster on the highway compared to my brother's DRZ.
