Default Where to get cam chain?

To the people who have replaced their cam chains - where did you get them? All I can find are $80 OEM ones.. Does any aftermarket company make them for our bike? Or are we stuck with OEM?

I can't find anything else...
Thanks

Yeah, got an OEM one for mine. I agree, it's pricey. Thankfully the shop I used to work at for 15 years still gives me the employee deal. I notice in the Tucker/Rocky catalog that there are lots of aftermarket cam chains, but most are listed by chain plate/roller size and pin numbers. I didn't study the spec on our KLX chains to compare, but maybe it's worth a look.

BTW, Mark at Kreiger Tensioners is sending me the KLX manual cam chain tensioner prototype next week to try.

What will be the advantage of a manual tensioner compared to the stock one, just curious?

http://cyclewareables.com/pages/cam_...ns_by_size.htm

If you scroll down they have the same model 92RH2010 chain that matches the stock one, just need to find how many links?

The 07 cam chain #92057-1416 says 92RH2010 next to it?

Will, the reason some of us are replacing cam chains on relatively low mileage motors is because the factory automatic cam chain tensioner in some instances is not maintaining proper tension. Kreiger has made tensioners for different bikes with this issue, and he's making one for the KLX.

Thanks for the info, good luck and let us know how it works.

Hopefully I'll have it to post pics of next week and install it immediately. I'd like to have it checked out for my Colorado trip next month. You know...for us old enough to remember, manual cam chain adjusters were the norm in the not-too-distant past. My '73 Z-1 900 had one, and it was easy to adjust...as well as several other bikes I had. I know one thing...I never had to replace a cam chain at 11,000 miles on anything I owned with a manual adjuster.
