Default Help Changing Cam Chain Tens. '03 636

Hey guys, newbie here. I just picked up an '03 636 that needs the cam chain tensioner replaced. I need some instructions to get me though it or do I just unbolt it and bolt the new one in? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks Clay

First thing you should get a service manual . That will save you great deals of time and a coastly mistake .

Remove
Chain tensioner cap ( center bolt head )
Washer
Spring / and pin
Then the tensioner mounting bolts.
Followed by the camshaft chain tensioner

Instaltion
Push the stoper button to release the rachet and push the push rod
into the tensioner body .

Instal the tensioner body with the arrow on it pointing upwards.
Tighten the tensioner mounting bolts to Tq spec 87 INCH pounds ( not foot pounds )

Install the pin / spring / and washer .

Tighten the tensioner cap.

Torque the chain tensioner cap to 14.5 FOOT POUNDS .

This should get you going . But why are you replacing it ? Using a after market APE brand one ?
