Hey guys, newbie here. I just picked up an '03 636 that needs the cam chain tensioner replaced. I need some instructions to get me though it or do I just unbolt it and bolt the new one in? Any help is appreciated.

get a repair manuel!! best way not to mess things up.

 

I am about to Install mine on an 03 636

I Looked @ the repair manual and it will be no problem to complete

 

I Changed the Cam Chain Tensioner this evening and everything went pretty smooth

I didnt like when i pulled the tensioner out and seen it looked identical to my new one with no wear or broken parts

I put the new one in and reassembled bike....I still have a nasty tick... I guess its gotta be the valves

 

Did you get a stock tensioner or the manually adjustable one? If it's a metallic tick, it's probably the valves like you said.
