Default When to have valves adjusted?

So at what mileage arepeople finding that their valves need adjustment. I know that the owners manual says it's at 7500 miles but I just turned 2000 and am getting quite a bit of racket from the motor. I believe it's the valves. It sounds like the '68 camaro I use to have when its lifters went bad. It's like a fluttering/ticking noise that fluctuates with rmps.

Mine were a little tight at 1200 kms. Probably they were tight when they left the factory.
In my opinion, 7500 is waaay too long to wait.

The noise is probably not valves tho - it's a noisy motor - timing chain mostly, but the entire top end is noisy.
You'll probably find your valves aren't far off spec - if any.
