throttle bodies top valves flutter
hi everyone i had my frame powder coated and now when i turn the key on it makes a noise.you can here the fuel pump turn on and then you here the throttle valves on the throttle bodies groaning.so we took the airbox off and when i turn the key on now i can actually see the top butterflys.they open then they start to close then they start to flutter.cant figure out why it does this now.please help me get it fixed.by the way the bike runs excellent.and the FI light comes on now.

if the FI light is then that means that there is a trouble code stored in the ECU. if you have a manual it wil tell you what the codes are, if not, i have one. just get the blink codes and let me know. to get the blink codes, there should be an opended wire, yellow, it has a female connector, next to the battery on the right side, turn the key on and ground the wire, either to the battery or the frame somewhere. the FI light will blink the codes. long blinks then short blinks, for example- long long long short short. it will repeat. try this then lemme know. my bike has the exact same flutter sound when you turn on the key, but no fi light. the whine is the fuel pump and the flutter sound is the vale system opening and closing with the servo under the front seat. when you remove the vale system and put on a pipe, you get a fuel pump whine, a servo flutter and the servo stop clicks. and kawis tick too.

You have a bad ground. Make sure that whereever the frame ground are, that it's got a good ground. You may have to use star washers so they bite into the frame through the powder coating. Also, check all of you grounds to the harness and make sure they are all making good contact. Use an ohmmeter ti verify.

I have to agree with speed, if you just powdercoated the frame then chances are about 99% you have a poor ground. Check extremely carefully as a ground may look good but it may not check out good. I have learned this lesson on many types of vehicles.
