cleaning throttle bodies

Default cleaning throttle bodies

i ordered a used set of throttle bodies for my 04 636 and i want to clean them before i put them in whats the best way to do that

Good question.

I am a WD40 kind of dude. Do not disassemble it, but spray it, wipe it down and verify smooth operation.

Petrol's as good as anything for cleaning these off the bike. Paraffin, diesel or WD-40 will all do the job.

Lubricate with light oil rather than WD-40 - it isn't really intended to be a lubricant.
