Oil and filter changed. Stator installed and checked out with ~68VAC. Now for getting a new regulator as it failed resistance checks. Wondered if there was a forum favorite. I put a mosfet on my Magna a few years ago and it has been fine.

Tested my tubliss system on the local rock trails. It really smooths out the trail garbage. Bike was pulling instant wheelies, thanks to 351 & slide carb. It was a mother getting started, I left the reserve on after the last ride, then ran out of gas .5 miles from the station on the way to fill up.
Found some ST to investigate when I have more time.

I installed my cleaned and oiled air filter and ordered my new mosfet voltage regulator/rectifier.

Last week was oil and filter, as well as installing Racetech .46 fork springs and fresh fork oil.

This week I've swapped out the DJ120 main jet for a DJ128 and pulled the snorkel. I installed a DSP 6.2kg/mm rear spring, and pulled the swingarm and rocker so I could clean/grease everything. 13 tooth front sprocket was next, and tomorrow I have a new Trackmaster II rear, and front Pirelli Scorpion XCMS to mount up.

Sounds like you're about ready for some single track. How are the trails down there?

Miles and miles of sand!.... lol

Honestly, I've done very little off-road. I've been strictly street for the last 25 years or so as dual sports light enough to enjoy off-road are too light to enjoy on-road (KLX feels like a moped after riding my Versys). I had a KLR650 for a couple of years... talk about heavy... no fun picking it up.

I recently started riding with some guys down near Pensacola and they have shown me the error of may ways (owning a single bike, when obviously two or more is better), so I picked up the KLX a few weeks ago. At 230lbs, the springs needed some help... and it had brand new K270's on it... no good in the sand.

There is supposed to be some pretty good riding north of me, Perry Mountain and few places like that. I've got some learning to do so I'm gonna start on the bunny slopes as my 49 year old desk-jockey bones don't bounce so well anymore

New shindengen mosfet r/r is in and battery terminal voltage is 14.27. I was thinking that low voltage may have been the root cause of a persistent but seemingly random misfire only experienced at highway speed. I have read of other klx owners with the same issue. Since the new r/r I have not one instance of a misfire on two commutes to work on I-64 running 65-75mph.
Sure was a strong headwind going in, where I saw a top speed of 68mph at WOT at times. Looks like the theory may well have been correct. Check that voltage.
