IMHO the frequency of the oil changeout is more important than what oil is used. I am changing out every 1000miles with Shell Helix Ultra 15-50 Becuase I have a delivery acct with shell. It comes out to $5 per liter. I am considering changing the oil every 500 miles as its really pretty cheep and easy.

Second that opine'. Change mine out every 2000 km or so. All dirt and lots of dust this time of year.

Yeah its probably all the same, but the fleet guys are using Amsoil full synthetic and running 10,000 miles, and sometimes only changing the filter and run more. Oh well, it makes me feel good to waste my money on oil.....wait what? LOL

I use the Canadian Tire stuff! Motomaster premium motorcycle oil. It's a conventional oil and JASO certified. Change out every 3000 kms. KLX engine is liquid cooled so it wont see as extreme temps compared to an air cooled engine. This is why I dont bother with synthetic.
