What boots should I wear when trailriding klx250s?
You know how hard it is to wipe your butt with your leg in a giant splint with it sticking straight out? It might be easier for a skinny person, but for a fat guy it's an athletic achievement. Wear the damn boots. --Feral Donkey
Dude!...did you have to mention this? The mental image is...disturbing!

Ill second that. But mine were $$$
Thor makes a nice set of dual sport mid height (basically super stiff hikers). Nice boot, nice support, road or trail. I put on knee protectors/shin guards over top of my pants with those boots. Nice compromise
I wear the Thor 50/50 boots. Very comfortable and easy to walk in. They don't cover your shins, but they protect your feet and ankles very well.

+1, I love my Sidi's soooo comfortable, best boots I've ever owned.
So to update everyone...went out this weekend on some trails wearing boots for the first time. Took the recommendation to move the shifter up a spline. Found that one notch up was the most comfortable for me.
The $70 new boots off eBay actually were fine even though they felt gigantic at first. Got use to it fairly quick. I'm sure their not as comfy as the $400-$500 ones but hey, they do the job and I still have a few hundred extra bucks to now figure out why the bike doesn't start up everytime without pulling out the choke!
Thanks again for the tips!

Same.
I wear Thor 50/50's when I'm going to be on the road only, and I have a pair of Axo MX boots for off road.. The AXO's come pre-broken in from the factory, very comfortable for MX boots.
And to the guys wearing steel-toed boots - check out that other thread where I posted my buddy's X-Ray from when he thought STB's were a good choice
