Wow dude very nice report,, seems you answered your own post's lol thanks for the write up though..

??????? My 09 didnt have a hose for the de-icer i didnt think, is it just aussie models

Cool write up. Great pics & narration. Finally get to see what was being talked about by so many others.

The smog stuff we get in the USA is alot worse than the de-ice stuff, that 118 main jet is a joke compared to the 132 the aussies run! Hooray DynoJet!

Seriously, I still can't believe we had a de-icing system on our carb... It's just weird.

I got the throttle working properly now as well, when I first pulled it off I gave the handle bar a quick clean but but it was really only a wipe over. So I pulled the throttle off again and started looking at where the wires run - there didn't seem to be any obstruction in their.

I tested the return by pulling one of the cables and as soon as I let it go it snapped back.... SO WHAT COULD IT HAVE BEEN???

Well it turns out that on the handle bar underneath the sleeve was some sort of goop - it didn't really feel goopy or anything, it was smooth - it was just some black looking stuff the was on the handle bar... It almost looked like it came out of the factory that way.

When you ran your finger across it, you could feel that it wasn't apart of the handle bar, but other than doing that - it was difficult to tell that it was not meant to be that way.

So anyway I got out a scrubbing sponge and gave it a scrub - it took ages but most of that black crap came off and now it returns no problems.
