is this suppose to look like this?

Works with a two stroke running about 3-4 ounces of oil in the gas burned. Four shot glasses full. That little bit of oil won't hurt anything.
There can be only two sources, the air filter oil and the breather. As long as you haven't overfilled the crank case the breather wouldn't be a big deal either. Make sure you have the right amount of oil in the engine. I believe you are to check the oil in the view window with the bike sitting upright, not on the side stand. If you filled it up leaning on the side stand you have too much oil and it is blowing into the air box. If the oil in the carb mouth is gooey sticky it is from the filter if it is dark and slippery, but not sticky it is crank case oil See if you overfilled the crank case.

I changed the oil on the bike had the oil level about 3/4 within the two lines.
I think the bike noise is spark knock. I watched a video and it sounds about the same... it also happens on up hill climbs under heavy load...
not sure how to fix it though, I always use 91 octane and pretty sure the cam timing is adjusted properly.

Fix it by downshifting. You are running too low of rpm if you are getting knock when under load. THat engine doesn't start putting out decent power without lugging until around 5000 rpm, lighter load maybe 4000. I run a stock 250 with the MCM, jstted with 87 octane and have never heard any detonation or pinging. But I don't run the engine like it is a tractor. I let it sing.

You don't really have to use 32:1 , the KLX will run just fine on less oil - 50:1 is ok..

I always run 91.
idk for once .. I haven't ridden the bike the tires are bald and I'm waiting for new ones to arrive.
I just went with cheap shinko 705 for now.

Hey horror-fan, I've heard a noise similar to the one in the video you posted. It turned out to be the little black fender in front of the rear tire. It sometimes rattles against the swingarm with the suspension compressed, which I could see happening under load and going up a hill.

The first week I bought the bike (like 5 months ago) .. I was investigating a different noise and tried removing that fender but didn't help.
I'll try it again. thanks
