A USB socket for heated grips? I want to wire them directly into the harness.

I wired heated grips to my KLX. I used the wire to the taillight for the switched power. I wired in a relay and powered the grips directly from the battery. This worked well as the battery, taillight wiring and space for the relay are located all next to each other.

+1 on the tail light and a $15 relay wiring harness off ebay if needed. I did the below for some lighting, so it was just and on/off switch.

Pigtail wire on the tail light, don't need to cut into the stock harness this way.

Mounted the relay to the airbox (my lid is a bit custom).

Not sure what you got for a harness with the grips?
The leads on the ebay relay harness were a bit long so just cut them down and crimp new lugs on. Taillight wire to switched power on harness, relay coil takes the ground off the battery and the ebay harness I used for lights has a switch on/off vs the power levels the grips usually have.
