I forgot to add that I have an aftermarket chain guide. That should up the price a bunch, eh?

Reading comprehension. It's a great thing. I am only throwing the idea around. Not completely serious as in I'm going to list it on Craigslist right this second, but serious enough that I'm evaluating its street value.

What I really need to do is itemize the mods and what I paid. I'm a little afraid to honestly.

$550 exhaust
something like $230 for suspension
$60 for jetting
$25 for bars
$60 for handguards
$900 or so for complete SM wheelset including alternate chain, rotors, and sprocket. It's a true swap-out easily done in 20 minutes.
$25 or so for that chain guard
$25 for that Kouba screw
whatever for the Iridium plug

damn...damn...but that SM wheelset is so much fun. I think after the Big Bend trip in a few weeks I'll get serious about what I want to do. There is already interest in buying it. Hopefully I don't thrash it too much in Big Bend.

It's a strong bike but there's still no denying that the end of my driveway is a 70 mph zone. If I lived downtown I wouldn't even consider selling.

hehe...i live in the country already!!

I keep riding with guys on TE610's, SM610's...man that new BMW 450 is sick...
The bike is perfect, except for the highway. I need more highway oomph. I mean it'll cruise fine at 7k rpm, just want more headroom.

I also want to get something used for my girlfriend and myself.

You're gonna lose hella-money trading it and trying to sell your mods. I'd suggest hanging on to it and finding her something cheap, maybe an older XT225. Don't worry about the guys on bigger/faster bikes. No matter what you own, someone will own a bike that's faster. If they don't wanna wait on you, then find new riding buddies.

Those XT's are nice though. She keeps looking at cruisers! Base model Stars...pretty nice bikes too.

Then why are you worried about your friends riding Huskey 610s? I've been following this thread since the beginning, and it seems like (I could be wrong) that you wanted a bigger bike with more power. But if you're keeping up with the guys on the hogs, why do you need a bigger bike? If they're dropping you on the highway, that's not a problem if you know where your'e going. As I said before, if they don't wait, then you need to find better riding buddies.

I'm not a fan of the XT but it is a good chick bike. My friend's wife has one, she likes it.

Part of this is for financial reasons also. It's a fun bike for sure. No denying that. It's a red Kawasaki too, I've had so many people fooled it's a Honda it's not funny.

I just made a list and there is about $2k in upgrades, plus extras like extra levers, oil filters, extra spark plug, couple bottles of oil, inner tubes, the front saddle bags.

I have some interest locally, I'll be sure to post here if it doesn't pan out.

What bars do you have? Also, you have the Muzzy exhaust? If it doesn't pan out with your local interest, and you decide to sell the mods separate, lemme know, I'd be interested...
