Thank you very much ManintheSea!!! I will call John. I can only lower the front about 1/2" maybe. Thats a big maybe. Not sure if I should go lower? I can only get one foot flat. I'm very new to riding. Like not even one week new. I'm sure if I call him he can help with the details. Thank again for the info! Yeah the turn signal is busted in to pieces! High bars? What was wrong with the 971's? Is it lower than stock?

Riding classes? LMAO All 3 times it fell the bike was moving 0 mph. The worst was when it was on the kick stand. That one bent the bars. Does drill in the crank case let water into the motor or does the pressure keep it out? Also is one jet kit better than another? According to renthal they recommend the 971's.

Well if it fell moving 0 then imagine what will happen at 60....YIKES!!! Just look into the MSF class. Its just another way to gear up, like a helmet or boots or gloves. Just saying.

Now onto your questions:
Does drill in the crank case let water into the motor or does the pressure keep it out?

WHAT!? I got nothing on that one.

Next question:
Also is one jet kit better than another?

Well there are differing opinions on that one, I got the Dyno-Jet kit back in the day, and it seems to be perfect.

According to renthal they recommend the 971's.
Are those handlebars?

Yeah I read the people drill a 3/8" hole to relieve back pressure in the case? I thought they said crankcase. It was in your first post. When all those sweet a** bikes like the one that had the klx300 fender mod. Will water and mud get in through that bigger vent being drilled? Yes the renthals 971 are handle bars. Mine are bent and need replaced.

It didn't fall moving, it was standing still. I really short 5'5 and one time was on the kick stand because I have the spring very soft to help lower it.

There is a lowering link (dogbone) underneath the bike that you can replace to drop the rear, and the fork tubes can be slid up 3/4 or so. That might help. I'm 6-1 and always wanted the bike to be taller.

I'm still on the stock bars. If I do ever replace them I want a 2 inch riser so as I stand up I'm not hunched over as bad.

When I talked to John about lowering the bike for my GF he had me send the forks and reer shock to him. It was the first 250sf he had worked with so maybe you wont need to send both to him.
High bars or risers in my case were for same reason Deej pointed out. More comfortable standing up and a little more comfortable sitting. In your case bar risers would move the bars up and you may get the forks a little higher in the tube.
Re bike falling over on the kickstand you could change the length of the kickstand. I had to take quite a bit off of the GF's. It would actualy leen away from the kickstand after the lowering.
Re dropping the bike at 0mph I can relate. My first two drops were first at -2mph backing down a rut in a hill I did not conquer & second after rideing the bike in the grove of a guardrail turned into a bridge. I made it across the guardrail (which locks the wheal on a set path so you cant leen at all) I popped up a small hill on the bike stopped, put my foot down and the ground on that side was another foot or so down. Basicly my legs were too short.
Deej is right a MSF course is good even though your drops sound more like a leg stretcher would be the ticket.

@ deej my bike got taller when I put the stiffer rear spring and a 140 rear on. The combo raised the bike and I really like the new ride.

Cheers Jim
