new carb or exhaust on top of 351

I'd like to be able to tell you no because that's what I think you want to hear. I can tell you that you'll probably change the AFR of your 351 when you stop making it pump exhaust through that soda straw. You'll need a dyno, AFR meter, or your seat-o-pants to make that decision. Did you buy the bike like it is now?
Maybe you'll get lucky - having to suck through that hole in the airbox lid could potentially create a rich condition that screams for a slip-on as is.
You want and expert on all this? The closest you'll get to a expert is to give Bill Blue a call.

i bought the bike basically new back in 09 with no mods, put on the big bore and jetted myself. i see you have a 132 main jet and don't have it bored? so judging from that i think ill need more fuel haha
I'm at 1300 FT above sea level.
Frampton, I'm basically at sea level. My Dyno run with the Dyno's A/F probe printed out an A/F chart that showed 14 to 14.5 with the DJ#128 jet. That is a good compromise between power and mileage. I want power - so in went the DJ#132 - next dyno run showed just under 13:1 and 1 additional HP over the #128 - 12.8 is considered perfect for max power.
I have no idea how to jet for a 351. Bill Blue has posted, in this forum, his formula for re-jetting after installing the 351. Do a search.
