What glue to put on boot for top of carb?

Default What glue to put on boot for top of carb?

As the title says What glue did u guys use on the boot where the needle is in the carb?

None. When the diaphram rubber is compressed, it seals it.

Are you talking about the boot or the diaphragm?

The boot to the top circular metal piece. Has 4 screws.

That's the diaphragm. Yeah it should just fit in the grooves unless it expanded. It supposedly expands if you don't put it in hot water immediately upon removal. I always do that so I don't know if it really do expand or not.

I did not soak my diaphragm in hot water upon removal while drilling the slide.

I did not use glue for reassembly.

No issues on either front.

Good luck with yours.

Should not be putting glue here at all. If diaphram doesn't seal it properly, need a new one is all. I did not put my diaphram in hot water... I had to fuss with it a bit to get it seated correctly, but wasn't unbearable. As long as it seats, unless you note a specific leak (like can see where dirt has found passage across where it should seal, I would not worry about it not sealing right as long as it's seated right.
