Default EVC Gasket New one fits or just glue old?

My 09 has the EVC Gasket oil leak , and after removing the gasket does not fit. Does the new gasket fit or do you need to glue it in place. I know you silicone seal the lobes, but do you need to glue the gasket to hold it in place. I noticed there was a brownish glue on the gasket in various spots, from the factory build. Thanks.

Apparently this isn't uncommon on some of the '09's. It's like the rubber shrinks or such. You'll probably need a new gasket, and it will retain its shape and size. And correct...only necessary to seal the cam lobe indentations.

Yes you can, with patience get the old gasket to go back on but you are better off to buy a new OEM gasket, and replace it. The 09 factory one seems to be made of some inferior material, or someone fell into the vat when they were mixing up the rubber….

from what i know, the oe gasket is too small, buy a new oem gasket and youll be fine. also, use a bit of gasket sealer on the corners of the half moons, it will help keep it from leaking
