""The KLX250S petcock doesn't insert into the tank. It's totally external and hooks to two separate hoses which connect to two separate brass fittings on the bottom of the tank. Of these two brass fittings, one fitting's pickup is longer (main) and it is mounted forward of the reserve fitting. ""
Ahhhh , good call, now that you mention it I know the valve is mounted to the frame. I never paid any attention to the outlets on the tank on the new bike. Do the brass fittings unscrew, and come out of the tank?
I'm just wondering if he still had one come apart in the tank?

So could the Honda nipple guys.

This nipple forum has some great members and there are enough of them that there is always somebody to answer a nipple question. On most other forums getting an intelligent nipple answer might take days if it gets answered at all.

CUDOS to the Kawi KLX 250 nipple riders. There are other forums for the KLX 250 that are the same way. Many members here are members of those forums as well. Must be something about the KLX 250 that attracts good folks!

Anyway. I'd have bet money that your nipple connections were reversed. If that's not the problem it will be interesting to see what's up.

Possibly... I'm just trying to go simple first since drawings can be pretty unclear at times.

I much prefer the use of 'nipple' over ' hose fitting' Amazing how you can get writer's block then just tapping-out a few nipples can restore the whole thought process.
