Default Gas tank only works on reserve?

I bought an 06 used w/ only 800 miles. The previous owner had to have the carb cleaned after it sat for a while and ever since, the bike will only get gas when the petcock is turned to reserve? Any clues? I have not torn into it yet, but suspect it is something simple like a clogged screen, or improper re-assembly.

Does the tank have enough gas in it for the primary pickup? If it does, you may need to pull the gas valve and give it a good cleaning. Here is a diagram.

Looks like A & B are the "on" and "reserve" outputs. I have to say that ours looks nothing like the old bike pickups. So this is where my understanding ends on how to clean it. Good luck.

Oh wait I see it now. 49019 and 49019A are on and reserve. So perhaps 49019A is plugged since it's the tallest pickup and would be the one for the main gas.

at first i thought same. But if hoses are crossed that means he can only get gas in on position. I hate thinking backwards! more than likely theres a clog somewhere. Empty tank and check petcock and lines back to tank. Good luck.

I think I found it, one of the 2 lines going to the petcock had a kink in it.
Thanks for the help.
