I officially just gave up hope - my KLX will be on it's last legs and I'll be shopping for my next bike before this happens.

I guess it's back to the two 40 oz aluminum water bottles in the saddlebags trick when summer comes around and the rides get longer.

I hate slopping around with multiple containers. One of these days I'm going to knock over one of the aluminum containers with the tip of the filler nozzle and spill 40 oz. of gas all over the tarmac. I regularly spill all over the top of the bikes tank while refueling.

add me to the wait 6 months then wait 6 months and then wait 6 months list... 6 months isn't that long, as long as you take it 6 months at a time!!

Attached is a picture of the trip (1500km) my son and I did in early January
Note the 7.5 litre fuel container on the rack. more than doubles the range on the KLX and a backup supply for the little XLR, it OK on the road but not suitable for off road work.

Yep, off-road, that setup is a subframe snapper.

Wonder if the are holding off since there is no 2011 model. Maybe waiting to see what the 2012 is like and if a small tweek will let 1 tank serve both models.

Did you manage to keep the cooling fan? I might go that route.

cooling fan issue is with the older ims tank . this is the tank where you have to hold the choke and also cut the side panels a small bit.
