All the jetting variation I tried I can't really say yielded me any real power gains like opening up the airbox and a new exhaust. Getting the carberator correctly set will make the motor run properly so that you're not wasting gas or melting pistons.

Interesting comment on the jetting as opposed to new exhaust. I have just put on the 13 tooth suntour and see some improvement in low end but it will not stand the bike up with a throttle twist. How much gain might I see with just going to a 128 jet?
Thanks,
Pete
I agree that if the larger jet is not justified by an increase in airflow, then it won't help at all. If you're after the power to stand the bike up with just a throttle twist, you're going to have to implement some hp increasing mods. My KLX will wheely but there is a substantial amount of upward pull to get r done. Now my XL600 on the other hand will stand up by throttle twist only. As a matter of fact you have to regulate the amount of throttle or you will find yourself on your **** in the first three gears. But there is a considerable difference in hp.
So mods that will substantially increase your hp are what is needed.

I have one and love it. Sounds great with or without the quiet tip. Just boughtthe p4 tip to quiet it down a littleto try and make itlegal for trails, andstill sounds great. Very noticable difference in off road performance in my opinion. Helped alot with keeping wheelies up too!Fits great and was easy (and quick)to install. Got rid of that low rpm hesitation/sputteringand "lag"(don't know if i'm wording that correctly).
