RE: First Breakdown
We had a similar issue with the wifes KLX shortly after we bought it. The battery went dead. To make a long story short, I pulled the left side cover and noticed a connector was unplugged. I plugged it back in and all was fixed. We think the last owner may have experienced the same problem so he charged up the battery and traded it in. His loss, our gain!

Is there anything like a grease or silicone spray that we can use on connectors that will prevent corrosion but not effect the connection?

I live in the desert, the only thing I have to worry about is "dry rot". All of the "streams" I cross are "arroyos". I wouldn't mind getting the bike wet once in awhile...

Okay,Guys and gal's, Here is the picture of the connector after fixing the problem, If any one is interested they can unplug the connector then start bike and then dissconnect battery ground cable bike will quit running. You can also plug in then start and dissconnect ground cable at battery and bkie will run but lights will be very dim!! Note also check positive cable where runs from starter relayto battery mine had rubbed between fender and frame and you see the results. Thanks Dave
