Same here and I agree totally. And I've been burned by trying to be a nice guy so I'm a lot more careful now. MBP's policy is not unreasonable and as a customer you can always choose another vendor that does not have that strict of a policy. Did you know that if you accept payment by Paypal and you ship anywhere but to the customer's "confirmed address", you have absolutely no recourse if the customer contests the charge? The payment is reversed and you are out of luck. Also, anyone can contest a credit card charge for up to 120 days after the purchase and unless you have documented proof that the item you shipped was delivered you will get a charge back from the CC company and be liable for the charges.
So if the policy doesn't work for you, just choose another retailer and move on. But cursing them out on the phone isn't going to solve much. And then to come on-line and leave that part out and make MBP look like they just hung up for no reason, that's pretty deceptive. I'm glad to hear the other side of the story, myself.

Remember the part where I said,"I really wanted to ride with my friends?" ... and that I wanted the 13T C/Sfor the KLX250s? Do you guys think that I am stupid or what? If I had 'cussed the guy out, could I really expect that he would extend a courtesy to me?
Only a fool would do that! I was like begging the first guy, (the "college grad"), to let this $16.95 sale get under the wire and let me buy the thing. I offered my credit card, 3 digit security code, & asked that they confirm the validity of my credit if they preferred and call me back if they wanted to. I gave them both of my phone numbers. and asked if they/ he could simply mail it to my present locations' post office.
If you guys want to put up with kind of discourtesy from a merchant... it's fine by me.
Being curteous to a customer who asks nothing "out of the ordinary" of the business, is certainly not the true test of good customer service. Rising to the challenge when policies are being stretched, or challenged, alwaysrequires a level of intelligence from those employed by a business owner.Those who have been empowered to make decisions, likecertainly, any Service/Sales Manager, should have this capability.If that person were employed by myself he/she would be expected to make decisions that are made in favor of the customer whenever possible.
Good management employees, who serve the public, should be able to "think on their feet" and make good business decisions that benefit the business owner and the customer.
What Jeff should have done, (if he worked in my business), is to get in contact with the poorly serviced customer,attempting to reconcile the issue amicably.
That's only good business! .. And I know what it looks like and how it feels, too!!

Hey Rod, I did not realize youwere the same person that I have come to know in helping you try and get re-established. While we really don't know anyone on the other end of a keyboard, I can vouch for you that after all of the conversations you and I have had and the pictures and stories I have read on your blog that you would not do the things that are being said about you. I am going on record here when I say I think the manager of the store in question while he may not know you, he made at the very least an error in character judgement.
