Dynojet Kit for 2007 KLX250
The bike was running perfect before the changes. I bought from the original owner and he had done nothing to the bike performance/carb wise. From idle to 5,000 rpm she pulls good. After 5,500 the same. Just inbetween when I'm on it. At 5,500 I feel a huge pull. Bike starts well, is good on fuel, etc. Only hiccup is between 5,000 to 5,500. I also get decel popping
On another note, I noticed that my air filter is quite dirty. Could this be the culprit?
Doing some reading...could have put the brass collar in upside down?

Yep to dirty air filter and the brass collar(it's actually called the "needle jet".) .. obviously, clean the air filter and test ride as a first step..
Apparently you removed the emulsion tube and the needle jet fell out? When installed correctly, it will protrude into the carb bore..
If you're going back in to check that, be sure to also check the MAJ and the emulsion tube for clogging.. Whatever this problem is, it is minor compared to most reported bogging - so hopefully it's a minor solution - like a few aeration holes clogged on the emulsion tube.. When all else looks good, be sure to triple check the diaphragm and seat it correctly..

BTW, when you snap to WOT from, say, 3K rpm, 5K rpm is the exact point where the slide should be right at fully opened with the DJ spring and standard lift hole. If it's sticking or has stiction that causes it to react slowly, you'll have problems. So be sure the slide and the carbs' slide area is very, very, clean. those parts operate in a "filtered air" environment and I think even minor dust could cause stiction..

Also be sure to get the slide spring properly installed around the indexing tangs on the cap.
This simple procedure, done wrong, can cause crazy issues due to aberrant slide behavior. And in some cases, may not show up until enough riding is done to vibrate the spring out of position enough to wreak havoc..

Yes...it's always at 5,000 no matter whether fast or slow on throttle. Lots of power before and after. Doesn't misfire, just bogs.
I'm going to take carb apart and check well, but will probably clean the air filter first and try. Could the air screw be off since I get decel popping? It sounds like my piped harley

Has your bike always decel popped or is this also something new?
I did the carb and slipon at the same time. No popping before that
Just remembered that I didn't have any high heat silicon when I installed the slip on, so just went without so I could try the bike, then forgot to seal it up later
