Ok, reset to 3.5 out, adjust idle to 1500-1600.. If you still have popping you can't live with , the cure is a #40 pilot jet..

If you have a leaky butterfly shaft seal, none of the above will fix the pops..

I should say, check the butterfly shaft seal on your next "fire up"...

I just edited by last response. I forgot that I didn't have any high heat silicon when I installed my slip on, but I wanted to try it out. Meant to add the silicon later. I assume this may cause some popping. Could it affect 5,000 rpm?

Thx for all your help. Sometimes I feel like I've got a handle on the carb stuff, then I don't

You're welcome.. We need to start finding and listing the solutions for this bogging/stuttering issue that comes up from time to time.. So far, about all I know of is Neonarc's butterfly shaft seal thread - https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...replace-43126/ - but this is not the issue with some other members stuttering problem..

Longer side goes up. It protrudes into the carb barrel..IIRC..

For the readers, he is talking about the Needle Jet. It sits on top of the emulsion tube. It is the brass item that the needle slides up and down in. It protrudes into the carb bore and is visible - the needle resides in it at all times during operation. It's orifice diameter is an important component to the fueling curve you get with a given carb setup.

Ok, took the carb off and checked everything, turned air out to 3.5, put everything together and noticed a DJ washer on the floor when I was cleaning up. Took all apart again and reinstalled the washer.

Decel almost completely gone. The bogging between 5-5500 rpm almost gone, just a slight hesitation when I'm around this rpm range and I crack the throttle. No where near as bad as before. Unless you have a suggestion I'll probably live with it

How did you know that 3.5 turns would fix this, when you've always recommended 2.5 turns with my set up?
