I have an Aust 09 I get the same noise under load but my noise seem to be "pinging" or pre igniting of the fuel associated with to higher compression . I used to have a modify GTR torana did the same thing used to have to run it on av gas to stop it.It normally appears under load and sounds like a rattle in the motor

Fuel here in Aus is ****. Run in on 98 RON it'll be sweet. Subaru has the same 'pinging' on the **** fuel, it's fine on the 98 Ron.

Westoz I find the pinging still noticeable mainly on hotter days.I alway run 98 i use caltex vortex. What fuel are you using.Bike is still standard maybe with jet kit might improve.

Get the "collar" that goes with the N1TC needle (see the sticky thread for the Kawa' part number) and raise the stock needle with it (approx 1.5 mm.) That'll help. I run BP Ultimate 98 whenever possible, the Caltex isn't he same IMHO. Put some Synth" oil in the bike, that'll help too. I use Motul 5100. Works well. PM me if you need any more help with the jetting.

new update. took the bike to the dealer for some warranty issues. the battery wasnt holding a charge. when the mechanic was checking it out he commented on my random idle. turns out the idle mixture screw was only 2 turns out, and after putting a scope on it, he tuned it to 3.5 turns out. so its been running lean for the last 400 miles...horay...lean=hot. im hoping there wasnt and damage caused by it.

Default Hey guys! Newbie here

Hey guys,
Now that I finally ordered my KLX, I thought I'd join this forum. Thanks to everyone for providing so much information.
I can't wait to get the bike. They're shipping it up from Christchurch by the end of the week. (Pray for a sunny weekend!)
Cheers.
