I got mine on Friday.The grips seem to work just fine.I actually got a chance to ride mine this weekend,a good 50 mile ride up in the hills.

I was planning on finding some hand guards.So does this cause an issie with the grips??? Which guards will fit??? I can not seem to find much for an 09.

 

I just bought one Saturday, they had to get a different one from their warehouse for me because of the grip recall. Evidently it is on select VINs. They told me that the grip glue was the reason the bikes were recalled.

 

since you got one not affected, can you tell me the manufacture date of your bike? It will be on a tag on the right side of the upper frame. Mine was built in Feb/2008. I don't know if they're sending everyone a notice or just bikes affected.

 

from my understanding its just bikes affected just like a auto dealership

 

04/08 mfr date. It was made in Thailand, too. I found that surprising...

 

just take the grips off and use hairspray...... that did mine good..... dont spin at all...

 

All KLX250's are made in Thailand.

 

Holds their shape, too.

 

what would really be surprising was if it was made in the USA.
