First thing I did when I got my carrier was to keep moving it closer to the truck until I had only a few inches between bumper and footpeg. Then I marked it, and drilled a new hole for the hitch bolt. Ended up moving it in almost a foot over the stock location.

Like everyone else here... I panic every time I hit a bump. Only taken it about 50 miles so far, but hoping the fear will go away with continued usage.

FWIW - you can lose the stabilizer... just replace the standard hitch "pin" with a 5/16" bolt and tack-weld a nut to the inside of the main tube (mine just has a spring holding the nut in there). Crank the bolt tight, and there's no movement. It's a LOT easier than dealing with the external stabilizer, plus it doesn't tear up your receiver like the 3 bolts on the stabilizer plate will.

I may just buy one of these, been wanting a Moto-Tote but at $400, they're too much money.

I want to put a front receiver on my truck (Dodge RAM dually) so I can carry it up front after getting a truck camper sometime in the future, and not block the back door. That way I can get the truck/camper/bike into some tight areas I can't even get close to with my 5th wheel toyhauler, and do it on less fuel too. Then make camp and explore from there.
