You should be able to just lift it enough to get it in there.

Bummer man. Is that thing pressed in? Don't try and grab onto it with vice grips, it will probably scratch it up. Maybe a rag in between the pliers. Good luck man.

Default bolt sleeve

hi larry

i dont want to be a pisser but i was looking at your photo

and the bottom left bolt hole looks like the top right hole.

does it need a sleeve as well? i'm not a pro but it just looked

like the top. i looked in the manual, but i did not see a sleeve

on the top or bottom. call bill just to be sure. like i said i dont

want to be a pisser but better safe than sorry.

I was wondering about that too. It seems like if you are going to have a pin alignment, you really have to have two.

We'll assume he already has the one sleeve on the head he installed on the 350 kit. It's quite common when separating 2 parts that have the collets for alignment that the collets end up on different parts. They aren't male/female and thus fit either locating hole. I'm pretty sure he only has to fit the one off the 250 barrel in the photo, although it will be come plainly obvious when he removes the head.

Just put it in, putting everytthing back together now. And the other sleeve was in the head - no worries.

One question about the jetting - I have an FMF kit. It's a KLX250S with an FMF full exhaust, airbox lid removed, and foam filter. Current setting is stock pilot, 128 main, C clip at 4th notch.. I think the mixture screw is 2.5 turns or so out. I think the mixture screw is 2.5 turns or so out..

My only other bigger jet I have is a 132. Should I try the 132? Or stay with the 128 and richen it up a bit?? If it matters much, I'm at sea level - 3k ft at the most.

Kinda lost on that one..

Thanks

I'm no expert but with all your mods, including exhaust, I'd definately run that 132 main. I'm running the 128 main and 2.5 turns out with a stock filter and stock exhaust, all I did was pull the snorkel. By increasing the displacement, more air and fuel are needing to be combusted. Laws of physics will pull in the extra air, but you'd need to step up the jet size.

Like I said, I'm no expert, but that's how I've come to understand it.
