Default 351 with stock carb.

So I am boxing up the cylinder to send out to Bill Blue tomorrow. I decided that I'm sticking with the stock cv carb for now. It already has the dynojet kit installed. Got a bit of advice from Klxster in another thread a few weeks ago and Bill said to go up 2 on main and 1 on the pilot. Does anyone here run the 351 and stock carb combo? Any dyno runs to verify afr? If you do run this combo, how does it run through the entire range?

To answer everyone's first question, I'm not getting a pumper carb because I have a 1 year old baby that keeps stealing all my money for less important things like food and diapers. 😀

Any help is appreciated

It all has to do with how you are going to run the airbox and what exhaust components you'll be running...

With that combo, near sea level, a stockbore (250) needs a DJ144 main jet with the DJ needle set to 1N (top notch). This produces a conservative fueling curve for max power - the upper RPM range is kept at 12.8 - 13 :1

So there's plenty of room for a richer curve IF the 351 actually can draw a little more fuel from the DJ144(debateable) than a 250.. No one has tried this CVK setup on a 351.. If tried, it is possible you could end up with power levels quite a bit above the "herd"..

You'll only know when you know.. And not before..

Also,
No matter where you go,
there you are..

Actually, perhaps I should directly answer your questions.
No, no one has a "dyno created/verified" fueling setup for a 351 with CVK.
AFAIK, no one has posted ANY 351&CVK AFR charts at all.
All 351 fueling is done with "follow the herd" (and over the cliff? lol) setups that seem to "work well"..
Bill has experience fueling 351's with KDX snorkels in place - not/never lidless applications..

My riding bud has a 351 with stock carb[jetted] open air box with K&N and stock exhaust
he goes most every where I go. He is a little more laid-back[not as apt to do something
that might not work out so well] than I am, but the bike does very good.

The 351 is the last thing I did to my 250 as it had the full fmf q4, jetted, open air-box and K&N when I got it. I put the BB carb on after getting two flat tires from the front wheel staying on the ground when I tried to loft[ha-ha] it over a 6" limb
on the ground/road. I don't know what a dyno would say
but if I was going to race I would take my YZ.
