2006 KLX250S Mod Check
Ran much better on my ride on Sunday. I'm definitely going to try the dial-a-jet. Left my house at 4800asl and it was running great, idle set between 13-1500rpm. At 6500 the idle had dropped to almost not running 800ish?. I screwed it back up to 13-15. When I got home, with no further adjustments it was a touch over 2k
Check my sig for my modifications and jetting (with KDX snorkel).
I tried lidless for a week earlier this year but the timbre and tone of the bike with the lid off grated on my nerves. I'd rather hear some reasonable exhaust tone than the hollow, tom-tom effect of lidless. To overcome the intake noise of running without a lid, you need a straight MX style slip on which will be very loud. Then you have two sources of loud tones coming from the bike. Gave it a whirl, some here are very protective about running lidless hopefully they don't hunt me down for not liking it lol.
I chose not to use the MCM. You can always try it but I wanted more of a top end power curve and the MCM shifts power to low/mid. If I did anything else on the bike it may be to bite the bullet and go 331 or 351. I like my bike's power as is though.
